On March 19, 2025, a meeting of the competition committee for awarding the title of "Best Expert of the Year" was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology Tatyana Stolyarova. This competition is being held for the third year in a row with the aim of increasing the prestige of expert activity and encouraging the most effective experts in the system of state scientific and state scientific and technical expertise. In accordance with the Regulation on the procedure for holding the competition for the title of "Best Expert of the Year", the results of the work of experts who prepared the largest number of expert opinions for the period from January 1 to December 31, 2024 have been summarized. As Tatyana Stolyarova noted, the expert base in total numbers over 3,000 highly qualified specialists. Rotation of the expert community is provided on a permanent basis, and parity of representatives of academic, university and industry science is ensured. "As for the state expert councils, as of the end of 2024, they included 478 people, of which 199 are doctors of science, including 12 academicians and 13 corresponding members of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, 230 are candidates of science. The GEC includes representatives of ministries and departments, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, as well as organizations of various forms of ownership," said the Deputy Chairperson of the State Committee on Science and Technology. Using the database of the information and analytical system "Unified Expertise", an assessment was made of the performance of 741 experts who completed the preparation of 1,767 expert opinions during the specified period. Of the specified number of experts, 94 candidates were nominated for the title of "Best Expert of 2024", each of whom prepared at least five expert opinions (a total of 633 opinions). A rating score was calculated for each expert based on the prepared opinions. In accordance with the Regulation, a ranked list of the six best participants in the competition was formed based on the rating assessments of experts. The members of the commission for awarding the title of "Best Expert of the Year" selected the three best experts by voting. The awarding of the winners of the competition for the title of "Best Expert of the Year" will be held at the State Committee for Science and Technology in the near future. ![]() ![]() |
