On 2 December 2010 the State Committee for Science and Technology jointly with Institute of System Analysis and National Information Point of the EU 7 Framework Programme for Research, Technology and Development (FP7) will carry out an Information Methodical Workshop “S&T cooperation between Belarus and EU in Information and Communication Technologies: opportunities and prospects” in Minsk. It will be held with support of the “SCUBE-ICT” FP7 project (“Strategic Cooperation in Ukraine, Belarus and EU in Information and Communication Technologies”). In the Workshop, the SCUBE-ICT partners and EU experts will take part.

The purpose of the action is to improve Belarus international S&T cooperation in ICT by

• involving in FP7 projects those national R&D organizations which have experience of international S&T cooperation;
• arranging direct contacts with EU experts in ICT;
• increasing competencies in international proposal drafting and implementation.

The tasks of the Workshop are as follows:

1. Dissemination of information about the current opportunities of S&T cooperation with the EU within FP7;
2. Dissemination of information about the new Work Programme “Information and Communication Technologies” for 2011-2012 and topics of the currently open 7th Call for proposals in ICT, as well as about the existing instruments and services which can help in arranging an international cooperation with the EU member states, including partner search services;
3. Arranging direct contacts with EU experts in different thematic areas of ICT, networking and personal consultations;
4. Improving personal skills of participants needed for successful inclusion in international cooperation.

To take part in the Workshop, active and potential participants and organizers of international S&T collaboration in ICT are invited.

The Workshop will be held on 2 December 2010 in the Rector’s House, Belarusian State University, 5a Bobrujskaya str. The Workshop starts at 9.30, registration — from 9.00. Participation if free-of-charge.

Working languages — Russian, English (simultaneous translation will be arranged).
