The State Committee for Science and Technology of Belarus together with the FP7 National Information Point is going to carry out a Workshop "Urgent opportunities of EC-BELARUS cooperation" and a training session on drafting proposals for the ongoing FP7 Call "Reinforcing cooperation with Europe’s neighbors in the context of the ERA" (FP7-INCO-2011-6, ERA-WIDE). The event is dedicated to the Call launched on 20 July 2010. It foresees a support to leading research centers in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine in order to improve their cooperation capacity with EU in the thematic priorities of the FP7: health, food, agriculture, biotechnology, nanotechnologies and materials, information and communication technologies, energy, environment (including climate change), transport, space, social sciences and humanities. This is the second call. Comparing to the last year its budget has been doubled up to 6 mln euro with maximum 500 thous euro per project. Number of the projects which the country may receive depends very much on the quality of proposals. The specificity of the call is that the project has to be coordinated by the focused research center that means it has to play the main role in proposal drafting. The tasks of the action are as follows:
To take part in the Workshop and training the representatives of research organizations and universities are invited that are interested to submit a proposal, including the authors of the proposals which have been submitted to the ERA-WIDE-2010 Call, and/or experts who drafted proposals but have not finalized them in time. The action will take place in the small conference hall in BELARUS HOTEL, 15, Storozhevskaya str., Minsk. Registration — from 9.30, the Workshop starts at 10.00. Participation is free-of-charge. Participation in the training is limited. The preliminary registration is open till 10 September 2010.
