On January 23, the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko presented the first State Quality Marks in the history of sovereign Belarus to representatives of enterprises whose products were awarded this high mark. The award ceremony took place in the Palace of Independence.

"Any sovereign, independent state that considers itself as such must have its own serious traditions that are ingrained in the minds of people. And I very much hope that today's significant day in every sense will become such a tradition," said Alexander Lukashenko, opening the ceremony.

The President recalled that exactly one year ago the State Quality Mark was established — an attribute of official recognition, and now the first recipients of this highest award in the history of the young independent Belarusian state have been determined.

"These are well-known brands, about which we proudly say: "Made in Belarus". They have passed a rigorous selection for compliance with the criteria of innovation, technology, safety and a number of others. The line of winners includes our famous vehicles and products loved by millions of people on different continents. Baby food, which is fed to babies even in distant Africa. And, of course, products made from Belarusian flax, one of our national symbols," said the Head of State.

According to him, the list of nominees could have been even longer, because there are many worthy ones. Almost 220 manufacturing organizations participated in the competition, 660 products were competing for the distinctive mark.

"It was a competition of the strongest and the equal. And the victory is even more valuable for those who won. The Republican Certification Commission and the strictest judges — about 50 thousand Belarusian citizens-consumers — determined the twenty most iconic domestic goods," said Alexander Lukashenko.

The head of state noted that not all those who brought their product to the top of success, and team success at that, were present at the ceremony. "It is impossible without competent management and the work of those who create unique products at the enterprise — designers and planners, workers and technical personnel, service teams, marketers and others. In a word, this success is made up of the efforts of hundreds and thousands of people. A huge thank you to all of you. You are truly the heroes of today," the Belarusian leader said.

"The Year of Quality and the current five-year plan for quality are the most relevant development strategy at this historical stage, our response to the challenges of the time, the issue of national sovereignty," Alexander Lukashenko emphasized.

He noted that now is a time of fierce competition in all areas — from production to civil society. And at all levels — from personal professional realization to strengthening the country's position in the global world order.

"Quality is both the end result and the path. It is our main resource along with hard work, intelligence and discipline, thanks to which we live in an independent country despite unprecedented pressure. Thirty years — peaceful and creative," the President stated. "Our country will always compete in its production, because what we produce (even good, high-quality) will have to compete with other countries that produce exactly the same products."

The announced five-year plan for quality is another bar, and a very high one, the President said. According to him, it will not just become a benchmark for the work of economic sectors, but will affect all areas of the state and society.

"The results of the Year of Quality that we are summing up today are the result of decades of our development. Therefore, it is natural that the exhibition of our achievements "My Belarus" in the new Minsk International Exhibition Center became the main event of the past year. I hope that by the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, this exhibition center will become even more beautiful," said the Head of State.

In less than a month, more than 300,000 people visited the exhibition. They saw the result of colossal, truly heroic work.

The President expressed gratitude to all whose professionalism, talent, and determination allowed them to fulfill the assigned tasks with dignity. "In the modern world, there is no other way to survive," he noted.

Alexander Lukashenko congratulated the first recipients of the State Quality Mark: "Each of you knows that the victory was not achieved by sudden luck or by being caught up in a momentary trend. It is the result of persistent, responsible work, persistence and dedication to the cause, discipline and the desire to be better than others and even better than yourself yesterday."

In the group of products for industrial and technical purposes, the State Quality Mark was awarded to the following: BELAZ-7513 quarry dump trucks; BELARUS-1222.3 tractor; MAZ-631228-8575-012 automobile chassis; ZhZK-9-2 grain crop harvester (configuration 01) manufactured by the Gomel Plant of Casting and Normals; passenger car tires 215/60R17 model BEL-402 96H, 225/65R17 model BEL-411 102H (OJSC Belshina); adjustable zener diode microcircuit K1242EP1BP (IL431AM-1) manufactured by OJSC INTEGRAL.

The State Quality Mark has also been awarded to a group of industrial goods for the population. These are linen bed linen sets of the Pole Kvetak trademark, article 24C7 (Orsha Linen Mill RUE); VIVAFLOOR laminated flooring (Gomeldrev OJSC); Alesi P1.350 furniture series (bedroom furniture) manufactured by Pinskdrev; PF-115 enamel (Lakokraska OJSC).

The following food products have also been awarded the quality mark: a line of dark bitter chocolate with no added sugar (JSC Kommunarka); condensed milk with a fat content of 8.5% (JSC Rogachev Milk Canning Plant); premium wheat flour of the M54-28 and M54-25 brands (JSC Lidakhleboprodukt); the Meat Pillows product line (JSC Brest Meat-Processing Plant), dry milk formulas for infant nutrition BELLAKT PREMIUM 1 and BELLAKT PREMIUM 2; Brest-Litovsk Aged hard cheese with a fat content in dry matter of 45% (JSC Savushkin Product); Karavai Pridvinya bread (JSC Vitebskhlebprom).

The resolution on assigning the State Quality Mark to products was adopted by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus.

Alexander Lukashenko once again emphasized that, having become the first, it will not be easy to maintain this level. "But I know that you will hold on. And not just hold on, but create new innovative products, goods that will compete in international markets. And I will never be ashamed of you, representing and selling your goods in other countries," the President is confident.

He wished everyone health and joy, and to always feel emotionally uplifted.
