Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus is the main holiday of Belarusian statehood. The decision to celebrate Independence Day on July 3, the day of the liberation of Minsk from German occupation, was made during a national referendum in 1996. It was declared in 1996 by Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus No. 1 "On the establishment of a national holiday Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus". In 2024, it will be 80 years since the liberation of the Republic of Belarus from the Nazi invaders. The key role in bringing the Great Victory closer was played by the Belarusian strategic offensive operation "Bagration" (June 23 August 29, 1944), which became a model of military leadership. "Bagration" was one of the largest military operations in the history of wars and ended with the victory of the Soviet Union. This holiday is dear to all Belarusians as a memory of those who defended the independence of their homeland on the battlefields. It unites all those who honor the history of their country, who with their work and talent make a daily contribution to the prosperity of their native land. On this day, ceremonial events, wreath-laying and flower-laying ceremonies at monuments will be held throughout the republic. A military parade will begin at the Minsk Hero City stele to mark the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus on July 3 at 9:00. Over 300 wheeled and tracked vehicles will march as part of 29 parade units of the mechanized column. The most powerful Iskander-M operational-tactical missile system, the Polonez missile system, the S-400 Triumph long and medium-range anti-aircraft missile systems, the Pickup, Dragon, Bogatyr, and Lis-PM light armored vehicles, the Cayman armored vehicles, the Tiger-M armored vehicles and other military equipment will be presented. In the evening from 9:00 PM to 12:00 AM, a gala concert will be held here: “Memory for the Victorious Heroes for Centuries!”
