In Ulan-Ude, under the joint leadership of the Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Shlychkov and the Head of the Republic of Buryatia Alexei Tsydenov, a meeting was held during which the parties analyzed the progress of the implementation of the Action Plan for the development of trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation for the period 2023-2027. The discussions focused on the prospects for cooperation in such strategically important areas as agriculture, industry, trade, healthcare and tourism.

The head of Buryatia, Aleksey Tsydenov, emphasized the impressive growth of trade turnover. "Over the past five years, the trade turnover of industrial and food products between Buryatia and Belarus has grown fourfold, and the growth potential remains," he said. According to him, components are actively supplied to Belarus, and high-tech products from Belarus. The Buryatia market is already familiar with Belarusian dairy products, and Buryatmyasprom is increasing its purchase volumes.

"First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to Sergey Vladimirovich and the entire team that works here in the republic. We have quite a lot of areas, and I am absolutely sure that the turnover will only grow — both materially and in the form of services. We see prospects for further cooperation," noted Alexey Tsydenov.

Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology Sergey Shlychkov, in turn, emphasized the need to further increase mutual trade turnover, especially in the current difficult economic conditions. He highlighted the development of cooperation issues in the field of supply of special equipment — fire, municipal and other, which, according to him, determined the composition of the Belarusian delegation. Sergey Shlychkov especially noted that business representatives make a key contribution to the export of goods to the Republic of Buryatia.

"In this regard, we are faced with the task of creating conditions for the development of interaction between business structures of Belarus and Buryatia and the activation of direct supplies in both directions," said the Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology. He also added that there is great interest in further cooperation in the healthcare sector, as well as in the development of tourism and the organization of tourist flows to both republics. Sergei Shlychkov expressed his firm belief that the agreements reached during the visit of the Belarusian delegation will certainly give a new, powerful impetus to bilateral cooperation.

According to the mayor, the issue of organizing direct deliveries of Belarusian products to Ulan-Ude is currently being actively worked on. Specific mechanisms of interaction, including logistics, have been discussed in detail. "We have 16 stores operating under the "Belorusskie tovary" brand in Ulan-Ude. Moreover, we regularly hold fairs that are popular with our residents. Our side has offered Belarusian businesses attractive terms for renting retail space in Ulan-Ude. This will be a good thing for both the city's residents and for the development of our bilateral relations. We are already bringing our entrepreneurs together and helping them find common ground for further work so that they can supply each other with products," Igor Shutenkov said.

The culmination of the Working Group meeting was the signing of a number of important documents designed to strengthen the planned ties. Among them: a memorandum of cooperation between the Association of Exporters and Importers of Buryatia and the Belgospischeprom concern, an agreement of intent between Minsk Dairy Plant No. 1 and the Tea Road company, as well as agreements on cooperation in the field of healthcare between the Republican Clinical Hospital named after N.A. Semashko and the 6th City Clinical Hospital of Minsk, as well as between the Buryat Republican Clinical Oncology Dispensary and the Minsk City Clinical Oncology Center.

The cooperation coordinators are the State Committee for Science and Technology on the Belarusian side and the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Buryatia on the Russian side.
