The Belarusian Institute Of System Analysis And Informational Support Of Scientific And Technical Sphere Winners of the Best Expert of the Year Competition Announced |

The State Committee for Science and Technology awarded the winners of the annual competition for the title of "Best Expert of the Year". The purpose of the competition is to enhance the prestige of expert activity and encourage the most effective experts in the system of state scientific and state scientific and technical expertise. To determine the winners, the work of 741 experts who completed the preparation of expert opinions in 2024 was assessed. The competition committee, which included representatives of the State Committee on Science and Technology, the national operator of state expertise and the chairmen of state expert councils, determined three finalists. The title of "Best Expert of the Year" was awarded to Deputy Head of the Department of Heat Transfer and Mechanics, Micro and Nanoscale Systems of the A. V. Lykov Institute of Heat and Mass Transfer of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Sergei Filatov, Head of the Department for Evaluation of Breeding Value of Farm Animals of the Belarusian Breeding Association Nikolai Khramchenko, and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Internationalization of Education of the Belarusian State University Viktor Kochin. As the Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology Sergey Shlychkov emphasized, increasing the level and prestige of expert activity plays an important role in saving budget funds. Thanks to the early detection of ineffective projects, state resources are directed to funding events that are most important for the development of the national economy. The register of experts includes more than 3 thousand highly qualified specialists. Rotation of the expert community is provided on a permanent basis, and parity of representatives of academic, university and industry science is ensured. The state expert councils include representatives of ministries and departments, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, as well as organizations of various forms of ownership. As of the end of 2024, they included 478 people, of whom 199 were doctors of science, including 12 academicians and 13 corresponding members of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, 230 were candidates of science.
