On 23 May 2023, Deputy Director for International Scientific and Innovation Work of the State Institution "BelISA" Olga Khvostova Olga Khvostova took part in a meeting with a delegation of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) of India. The meeting was held at the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus. According to Deputy Chairperson of the SCST Tatiana Stolyarova, cooperation in science, technology and innovations is one of the important elements in the system of trade and economic relations between Belarus and India. The foundations for interaction between the two countries were laid in 1993 with the signing of the intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in science and technology. The Joint Commission for Cooperation in Science and Technology coordinates the implementation of the treaty.
To promote bilateral cooperation, including in technology transfer, the Belarusian and Indian sides signed an agreement in 2019 on the use of the Belarusian Institute of System Analysis and Information Support for Science and Technology and the International Centre for Advanced Research in Powder Metallurgy and New Materials as base organisations (Center for Advanced Research of Powder Metallurgy and New Materials) in Hyderabad. The Belarusian side is interested in continuing cooperation with its Indian colleagues. During the meeting, the parties identified a number of priority areas for further cooperation: digital information and communication technologies, energy, construction, ecology and environmental management, agro-industry, food and machine building technologies, instrumentation and innovative materials, as well as biological, medical, pharmaceutical technologies and production. At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed to continue mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation in the scientific and technical field. |
