An unmanned robotic dog was tested in underground conditions at the Usolsky Potash Plant mine, the press service of Belaruskali OJSC reported. We are talking about the Deep Robotics X20 bionic robot. It is equipped with a 3D navigation system, can climb stairs, and can withstand a load of up to 20 kg. The robot has a waterproof and dustproof industrial-grade body, which allows it to work in extreme conditions, and can move autonomously along a pre-built route or be controlled by an operator using a remote control. The robotic dog is equipped with light radars, laser scanners, temperature, humidity and heat sensors, as well as gas analyzers that assess the content of methane and hydrogen in the air. Data collected by robotic dogs, drones and other solutions can be used in the future to build a safe mine model. In the future, thanks to unmanned solutions, some mining operations may become virtually unmanned. However, as the press service added, many people will be needed at the same time, capable of managing digital solutions for mines and plants.
