Russian fund to select best Belarus-Russia innovation project

The Russian Fund for Assistance of Small Innovative Entreprises has instituted a nomination “Best Belarusian-Russian Innovation Project” as part of the national innovation project competition, BelTA learnt from Assistant Chairman of the State Committee for Science and Technology of Belarus Yuri Lukashevich.

“The prize fund will make up RUB70,000 for the first place and RUB35,000 for the runner-up. It is worth mentioning that the interest in the competition from foreign partners has been showed for the first time,” Yuri Lukashevich said.

The competition is divided into to nominations: Best Innovation Project and Best Youth Innovation Project. The competition aims to promote promising innovation projects and developments, assist in seeking out investment support of these projects and commoditize scientific findings.

Partaking in the competition can be both corporate bodies and individuals. Individuals under 35 can compete in the nomination “Best Youth Innovation Project”.

Applications for the national competition of innovation projects are accepted till 1 November 2013.

According to Yuri Lukashevich, the State Committee for Science and Technology of Belarus and the Belarusian Innovation Fund are mulling over an opportunity of instituting additional nominations for supporting the most interesting innovation projects.

This year about Br23 million has been allocated from the state budget to award the winners of the competition.
