The program of the forum supposes the conducting of a range of subject sections, including the section on Science and Technology. The collaboration in science and innovations organized by the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus. On 31 May 2013 a Business Forum of member states of the Common Economic Space (CES) was held in Minsk being the first event of this sort in the CES. It was organized by the Ministry of Economy of Belarus, Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and the Republican Association of Industrial Enterprises with the active assistance from numerous government bodies with a purpose to promote the developing common information area and the business environment as the most important instruments for strengthening the economic cooperation between the CES member states, involve their business community in solving the key issues of economic reform, expand contacts between economic entities of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan, fill in the relations with concrete projects and create the favorable conditions for cooperation in innovation in order to achieve synergies in the development and implementation of technologies. The concept of the Forum foresees five parallel thematic sections, the first of which titled "Science and Technology. Cooperation in Science and Innovation". The sections were designed to give a new impetus and practical character to the priority areas of cooperation within the CES – collaboration in science, technology and innovation (STI), information and communication, manufacture, logistics, transport and tourism. The organization of the Section 1 was assigned to the State Committee for Science and Technology (SCST) which, in turn, transferred the responsibility for its preparation to the Belarusian Institute of System Analysis and Information Support of Scientific and Technical Sphere (BelISA). The work of the Section was organized in accordance with the program. It was attended by over 110 people representing the following organizations: Russia

In the course of the Section the current state of the STI cooperation between research institutions, scientific and industrial enterprises and companies of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan has been discussed, as well as implementation of tri-lateral projects and mechanisms to support them. Besides, the prospective future projects were presented. By the results of the Section "Science and Technology. Cooperation in Science and Innovation" of the Forum, the State Committee for Science and Technology of Belarus has signed a number of agreements on STI collaboration, namely with
Cooperation agreement was also signed by the Belarusian Innovation Fund and "Infrastructure Investment RVC" (Russia). The Section "Science and Technology. Cooperation in Science and Innovation", as well as the Forum in general, has become a meeting place and a discussion forum for a wide range of participants — representatives of government, business, science, which offered new joint projects aimed at social and economic development of the CES member states. These meetings contribute to the promotion of tri-lateral cooperation in STI within the CES, as well as to bi-lateral cooperation Belarus-Russia and Belarus-Kazakhstan.
