15.01.2009
The scientists of the Central Botanical Garden (CBG) of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus have developed a set of new technologies to grow medicinal herbs, BelTA learnt from Lidia Kukhareva, pisional manager of the CBG.
The scientists have offered optimal and effective methods to grow various plants. They described the growth process under production conditions, evaluated cost-effectiveness of each plant. The CBG provided all interested enterprises with information about pharmacologic properties of plants and their biological and botanic features. Innovations are being introduced in different regions of the country.
New technologies make it possible to get raw materials of high quality for national pharmaceuticals industry. Different plants have different medical characteristics and can be used to cure diseases across a broad spectrum of therapeutic areas.
The CBG constantly works on the production technologies of medicinal plants, modern pharmaceuticals, dietary supplements and soft drinks made from local plant resources.
