The House of Press held a press conference on the Day of Belarusian Science, "Priority areas of research in 2023"

On January 25, 2023, a press conference "Priority areas of scientific research in 2023" was held in the House of Press on the occasion of the Day of Belarusian Science. It was attended by Tatiana Stolyarova, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, representatives of the Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

Deputy Chairman of SCST noted that in the performance of the tasks of the state scientific and technical programs this year our scientists plan to complete work on the creation of a complex based on an unmanned aerial vehicle for the application of plant protection products in agriculture, electric passenger bus for airports with home-made power plant components, technology for processing waste generated by oil products storage, defoamer based on silicone oil with reduced ability

According to Tatyana Stolyarova, in 2023 the work will continue in such high-tech sectors as micro– and nanoelectronics, production of electric transport, instrument making, pharmaceutical production, industrial biotechnology and information services.
She also informed that this year, in order to increase efficiency of scientific, scientific-technical and innovation activity, the systematic and systematic work on improvement of the legislative base will be continued in the country.

One of the most important tasks facing the SCST in 2023 is the development of a comprehensive forecast of scientific and technological progress, which will be the basic strategic document on the possible options of scientific and technological development of the country in the medium and long term. The Comprehensive Forecast will serve as the basis for the elaboration of other strategic documents of the state — the National Strategy for Sustainable Development and the Program for Socio-Economic Development of the Republic of Belarus. The main task of the cycle of technological forecasting for the period of 2026-2030 and for the period until 2045 is to define the priority directions of scientific, scientific-technical and innovation activity in the Republic of Belarus for the next five-year period.

The year 2023 will be a year of implementation of joint projects within the framework of the Interstate program of innovation cooperation of the CIS member states until 2030. It is also planned to expand scientific cooperation with the countries of the so-called far arc: individual states of Asia, Africa and Latin America.
