05.12.2012
The Belarusian State University will present over 30 R&D projects at the 9th national exhibition “BelarusEXPO 2012” that will take place in Latvia on 6-9 December, BelTA learnt from the press service of the university.
The BSU will present know-how in environmental protection, agriculture and healthcare. The exhibits will be included in the sections of informational protection software, microwave engineering and technologies, and others.
“The exposition features import-substitution solutions used at various production facilities. Some of them are already known, but some are brand-new. One of them is a technology to make regenerated cellulose fiber without using carbon disulphide. It is an eco-friendly technology that allows reducing water consumption by more than 100 times and eliminating gas emissions into the atmosphere,” the press service informed. They added that one of Belarusian industrial manufacturers is already using this technology.
This year the exposition will feature more than 250 Belarusian companies and organizations. The total exhibition floor will exceed 2,500 square meters. A Belarus-Latvia investment forum will be held in Riga within the framework of the national exhibition.
As usual, big expositions at “BelarusEXPO” will be arranged by the Industry Ministry, Agriculture and Food Ministry, Education Ministry, Transport and Communications Ministry, Belneftekhim Concern, Belgospishcheprom Concern, Bellegprom Concern and Bellesbumprom Concern, the State Committee for Science and Technology and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
The exhibition will enable Belarus to present its export opportunities, showcase products of the country’s leading companies, and promote domestic goods and services on the Latvian market. Business meetings and talks will be held on the sidelines of the exhibition in a bid to forge new ties with Latvia economic operators and sign agreements and contracts to supply Belarusian products.
