Meeting on Union State programs with the participation of State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev was held

On February 2, 2023 the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus hosted a meeting with State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev with representatives of state customers of programs and activities of the Union State from the Republic of Belarus in the fields of defense and security.

During the meeting the results of implementation in 2022 of the programs and activities in these areas were summed up, the issues of preparing drafts of new programs of the Union State in these areas were considered.
In his conversation with journalists the State Secretary of the Union State drew attention to the fact that the terms of adoption of the Union State programs will accelerate several times. "This meeting is dedicated to the implementation of the decision of the Council of Ministers of the Union State, which was signed by Roman Golovchenko and Mikhail Mishustin, on the new order of work on the programs of the Union State. It is important for us not to confuse the 28 Union programs as a single work plan for the areas of economic integration and the continuing mechanism of Union State programs, which is traditionally financed from the Union budget. The new order we are now talking about defines the work on the draft programs not 3-4 years as before, but no more than 1 year. The limit has been set: the program cannot cost more than 500 million Russian rubles at the first stage. It is also important to analyze what we have managed to do. Four programs have been continuing since the last year. And we see four new programs, which will be introduced this year. Three of them are focused on border security and development of the regional grouping of the Union State," stressed Dmitry Mezentsev.
In general, according to the State Secretary of the Union State, the practice of work within the framework of the integration association is successful — 68 programs of the Union State have already been implemented.
