III International Scientific and Practical Conference "Status and Prospects of Development of the International State Network of Scientific and Technical Information"

Deputy Chairperson of the State Committee for Science and Technology Tatyana Stolyarova addressed the conference participants with a welcoming speech, noting that in the context of dynamic technological development and globalization, access to high-quality and up-to-date information that facilitates progress is becoming a crucial factor for success.
She emphasized: "Our common goal is to create conditions for free and prompt access to advanced scientific developments and technologies, which will undoubtedly facilitate the implementation of innovations and strengthen the competitiveness of our countries."
The conference aims to unite the efforts of libraries, research centers, and scientific organizations in Russia, Belarus, and other CIS countries to effectively utilize and mutually beneficially exchange information in the scientific and technical fields.
Topics discussed included: the development of an interstate system of scientific and technical information; modern tools for cataloging and providing access to collections; the role of automation and information library systems in the activities of scientific and technical libraries; and the current challenges facing scientific and technical libraries in the formation and development of the State Scientific and Technical Information System.
Vladimir Aleksandrovich Susha, Director of the Belarusian Institute of System Analysis and Information Support for Science and Technology, addressed the participants of the section "National NTI Systems: Formation of National Catalogs, Prospects for International Cooperation" at the International Scientific and Practical Conference with a welcoming speech.
In his speech, the Director of the State Institution "BelISA" emphasized that the digital transformation of all spheres of modern society is one of Belarus's national priorities. The scientific and technical information system, the primary mechanism for providing information and supporting the implementation of state scientific and technical policy in the Republic of Belarus, plays a particularly significant role in this process.
"Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence have been chosen as the leading priority for the upcoming five-year period in the Republic of Belarus. This priority includes not only artificial intelligence technologies, software, and hardware, but also, which is especially relevant for our conference, technologies for collecting, storing, processing, transmitting, and distributing information," noted Vladimir Susha.
The conference is organized by the Russian State Public Library for Science and Technology and the Republican Scientific and Technical Library, with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and the State Committee for Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus. The event is taking place in Moscow at the Russian State Public Library for Science and Technology.
