Innovations in the development of electric transport are presented at the exhibition "My Belarus"

23.01.2025

At the exhibition of achievements "My Belarus" in the cluster "Smart City" a number of developments aimed at the development of electric transport in the Republic of Belarus are presented.

The first electric cars appeared almost 50 years before the first automobile and were heavy, moved at a speed of no more than 4 km/h and were not entirely suitable for practical use. The development of electric cars was held back by the lack of relatively small and rechargeable batteries. Interest in electric cars revived in the 90s of the 20th century, when the problem of environmental pollution and depletion of oil reserves became acute. The first mass-produced electric car was the GM EV1, produced in the USA from 1996 to 2003.

The Republic of Belarus is actively involved in the development of the electric vehicle industry. By Resolution No. 213 of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus dated April 9, 2021, the Comprehensive Program for the Development of Electric Transport for 2021–2025 was adopted, the purpose of which is to create a new area of economic growth based on the formation of the mechanical engineering industry — the production of electric transport, as well as conditions for increasing the number of electric vehicles used, expanding the electric transport infrastructure and minimizing negative impacts on the environment. To implement the state program, the Electric Transport Innovation and Industrial Cluster was created, which included such companies as MAZ, BELAZ, MTZ, Belkommunmash, Mogilevliftmash, Izmeritel, OIM NAS of Belarus, BNTU, ETON-ELTRANS and others.

At the My Belarus exhibition, the Smart City cluster features the Geely Galaxy E8 electric car and a scale model of the MA3 271 apron electric bus, designed to transport passengers at airports.

The electric vehicle market in Belarus is growing dynamically. Accordingly, the demand for electric car charging infrastructure is also increasing. Visitors to the exhibition have the opportunity to get acquainted with the features and capabilities of three electric charging stations.

Thus, JSC Vityaz presents a stationary electric charging station EC-401-15, designed for charging electric vehicles with direct current in Mode 4, equipped with CCS Combo 2 or CHAdeMO connectors. This station is installed in parking lots, parking areas.

RUE Beltelecom introduces visitors to the Evika! electric charging station. The stations are located in locations where service users plan to stay for a long time during the day: urban residential areas and parking lots near workplaces. Given the trend towards popularizing electric vehicles manufactured in China, the company has developed and implemented a solution to equip electric charging stations with a GB/T AC connector for charging Chinese electric vehicles with alternating current. All two-post ECSs commissioned in 2024 are equipped with the corresponding connector.

Another type of charging station for an electric vehicle is presented by the resident of the High-Tech Park, LLC "LWO".

You can get acquainted with these and many other developments of Belarusian scientists by visiting the exhibition "My Belarus" at the address: Minsk, st. P. Medelki, 24.
