31.01.2023

On 30 January 2023, a press conference titled "Summing up the results of the "Belarus Intellectual" exhibition" was held at the BELTA press center. Representatives of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the State Committee for Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Belarus, and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus participated in the press conference.

As Sergey Chizhik, the First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus noted, the exhibition has been organized in execution of the instruction of the Head of State, which was given during the working meeting with Vladimir Gusakov, the Chairman of the Presidium of NAS of Belarus on October 18, 2022.

The exhibition showcased the latest developments and achievements of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, organizations of other departments, including the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Industry, State Committee on Science and Technology and others. Over 400 exhibits were presented, including full-scale specimens, models, and multimedia presentations on big screens.

The exhibition was planned to be held on January 20-22, but due to the great interest of the visitors it was decided to extend it to January 29. According to the approximate estimates, the exhibition was visited by 80 thousand to 100 thousand people.

Tatiana Stolyarova, Deputy Chairperson of the State Committee on Science and Technologies of the Republic of Belarus, told journalists that scientific ideas should be implemented in the real sector of economy and social sphere.

"The development commercialization cluster, among other things, was presented at the exhibition. And this is no coincidence. Scientific ideas must be implemented in the real economy and in the social sphere. Conditions must be created for this. The cluster on the commercialization of developments demonstrated what opportunities are already provided in this direction. The country pays much attention to development of innovation infrastructure: technoparks, technology transfer centers, the Belarusian Innovation Fund and the National Center of Intellectual Property," — said Tatiana Stolyarova.

As a reminder, the exposition of "Belarus Intellectual" was organized in various clusters. Among them — artificial intelligence, IT-technologies, robotics; innovative instrument engineering; electric transport and its basic components; defense and military science; ecology, nature management; biotechnologies; pharmacy, healthcare, medicine; agro-industrial complex, food; space of youth initiatives.

Then the exhibition will go to the regions. It is planned that in two months it will visit all regional centers. "It was decided to continue, so that the regions could get acquainted with the achievements of science. The plan is to tour all our regional centers in two months. We have already held a preliminary meeting with regional authorities, we are studying the situation and availability of premises. I would like to mention that at the exhibition in regions there will be separate sectors to demonstrate achievements of a particular region. I think it will be a great addition," said Sergei Chizhik.

The first point is Gomel, the further route has not been determined yet. "I think everything will be held for 3-4 days with the capture of the weekend, that is, Thursday-Sunday or Friday-Sunday, depending on the situation, opportunities and wishes of the region. February 13, we will start delivering the exposition to Gomel," said First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
