National Exhibition of the Republic of Belarus in Serbia (23-26 June 2010, Belgrade, Serbia)

According to the Plan of National exhibitions (expositions) of Belarus abroad for 2010 (approved by the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of Belarus of 4 February 2010 N 151) the National Exhibition of the Republic of Belarus was carried out in Belgrade ExpoCenter on 23-26 June 2010. Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Trade and Belarusian Chamber of Trade and Commerce have acted as its organizers.

Over 100 Belarusian companies, organizations and enterprises searching for new partners and wishing to expand their presence in Serbia and other countries of Western Balkans have taken part in the event.

The State Committee for Science and Technology jointly with the Belarusian Institute of System Analysis and Information Support of Scientific and Technical Sphere has acted as a collective organizer of a science and technology section at the Exhibition which has united more than 140 developments of 19 R&D centers — 14 universities and organizations of the Ministry of Education of Belarus and 5 institutions of the National Academy of Sciences. 

Developments presented at the exposition of the Ministry of Education covered such areas, as metallurgy, processing of the components’ surfaces, laser technologies, new materials, new ultrasound technologies, industrial wastes processing, medicine, light industry, construction, mechanical engineering and instrument-making industry.

The institutions of the National Academy of Sciences have demonstrated new technologies for materials processing, automated complexes for plasma cutting, technologies for continues horizontal casting, technologies and equipment for applying multifunctional and biocompatible coatings, technologies and equipment for electron-ray and laser processing, etc.

During the Exhibition, numerous meetings and negotiations with representatives of business and education of Serbia have been carried out. As a result, several agreements and protocols on joint S&T activities, as well as joint projects and information exchange between organizations of the two counties have been signed.

On 25 June the bi-lateral seminar “Science and Innovations. Opportunities for Cooperation” was held. Its program included reports and presentations by the Institute of Physics, Scientific and Practical Center for Materials (both — National Academy of Sciences), Belarusian State University, S&T park “Polytechnik” of Belarusian National Technical University, Mogilev State University for Food — from Belarusian side,  and also Ministry for Science and Technological Development,  Belgrade University, Institute of  Farming and Vegetable Growing, Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Chamber of Trade and Commerce, representatives of business — from Serbian side. The seminar has finalized with the detailed review of the Exhibition.
