National exhibition of the Republic of Belarus "BelarusExpo-2006" in Astana

On 18-20 October, 2006 in Astana the Third National Exhibition of the Republic of Belarus in Kazakhstan "BelarusExpo-2006" has passed. 90 enterprises and organizations took part in it. The S&T section of the exposition was represented by the State Committee for Science and Technologies. It united developments of 12 universities, 3 institutions of the NAS of Belarus, Scientific Technological Park of BNTU "METOLIT". Within the framework of the Exhibition the round table “Belarus-Kazakhstan cooperation in the sphere of science and innovations as the major factor of economic development of both countries” has been carried out.

The greatest interest of the visitors was caused by the developments of the Belarusian state university on microwave equipment of various purposes: for sterilization of a soil, processing of a post correspondence, drying of wood, and also sterilization of bandage and medical fabrics. A number of contracts with Kazakhstan companies on delivery of this equipment have been signed.

During the Exhibition the arrangement between the representatives of the Belarusian national technical university, Scientific Technological Park BNTU “METOLIT” and Pavlodar steelmaking factory about delivery of rollers for rolling manufacture with wear-resistant gas-flame covering is achieved. The contract on delivery of the first lot in 2006 will be for 12 thous. US dollars. In 2007 it’s planned to prepare a contract for an annually needed amount and   to develop three new kinds of production with gas-flame sputtering.
