National Exhibition of the Republic of Belarus in Dubai (3-6 November 2008, United Arab Emirates)

On 3 November 2008 in Dubai world shopping center, pavilion “Sheikh Rashid” the official opening ceremony of the National Exhibition of the Republic of Belarus was held. The following officials took part in it: Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus A.Semeshko, Deputy Minister of Trade of Belarus I.Stepanenko, Chairman of UAE Council of Commercial and Industrial Chambers Abdalla Rashid Al-Khadzhi, Head of Commercial and Industrial Chamber of Dubai Emirate Abdulrakhman Sajf Al-Gureyra, etc. Upon the opening the honorable visitors have familiarized with the expositions and separate exhibits submitted.

Belarusian scientific section was formed by organizations and establishments of the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Communication and Information, and also the National Academy of Sciences. Due to the preliminary work which was carried out at the preparatory stage members of the scientific delegation have managed to conduct a number of negotiations with the representatives of UAE and regional business, and also sign several protocols on intentions, namely in the field of medicine, information, etc.

The appropriate information and catalogues of the institutions of higher educational with the list of services was handed to all interested visitors. Information about R&D potential of Belarus and opportunities for S&T cooperation was transferred to the magazines “Makima Times” and “Business Emirates” which agreed to publish articles on this topic.

By results of the Exhibition all the organizations-participants of the scientific section have been awarded with the diplomas of the Organizing Committee. The Exhibition as a whole has played a positive role in generating an attractive image of Belarus and proving its reliability as a business partner in international affairs.

The S&T section of the National Exhibition in Dubai has been organized by the State Committee for Science and Technologies together with Belarusian Institute of System Analysis and Information Support of Scientific and Technical Sphere.
